I really ain't that stinky...

Welcome to my site!

First, I'd like to say, it was quite a challenge to take out all the javascript that makes this site sparkle. On my first attempt at this layout, I made a Christian website, IAMsentme.com. The website is significantly better looking than this template, so if this template in any way gives you some ideas, you might go over to my website and see what you think. That site is only the second site I ever made, so it's by no means professional, but I like it just because I learned so much stuff while doing it. I love sites like Open Web, and if it weren't for sites like this, I could have never got as far as I have in web design (regardless of how far you think that is!) Anyways, enjoy the template if you can.

How are you doing anyways? The world is such a messed up place, isn't it? Wars, corrupt politicians, terrorism, gangs, porn, identity theft, and drugs are just the beginning of a long list of problems that we have in this world. I often ask myself, "where are the good people?" Would you consider yourself a good person? Nearly everyone will say yes when asked that question. Can I ask you some questions to see if you are?

The good person test

  • Have you ever told a lie? If so, what does that make you? It makes you a liar.
  • Have you ever stolen anything? Even something small? Come on, you just told me you're a liar wink wink. So if you have stolen something, what does that make you? It makes you a thief.
  • Have you ever looked at a man or woman with lust? Jesus said, in Matthew 5:28, "I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust, has already committed adultery with her in his heart". I'm guilty of this too (as well as being a liar and thief).
  • Have you ever hated someone? In Matthew 5:21-22, Jesus said, "You have heard that our ancestors were told, 'You must not commit murder. If you commit murder you are subject to judgement'. But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgement". Would God classify you as a murderer, and judge you based on any hate in your heart?
  • Have you ever used God's name as a curse word? That's called blasphemy, and it's a serious sin. Would you appreciate somebody using your name as a curse word? God certainly doesn't. Are you a blasphemer?
  • By your own admission, you are probably a lying, thieving, adulterous, blasphemer, and murderer at heart, and those are only five of God's ten commandments. I'm guilty of breaking them also. There are five more commandments. Read them all for yourself in Exodus chapter 20.
  • So, if you were judged by God's law, the ten commandments, do you think you'd be innocent or guilty? If you've been honest, your answer is guilty. I would be guilty also. The truth is that all of us are guilty. The Bible says there is not one who is good on the earth (Psalms 14:1, Psalm 53:1, Romans 3:10) In Luke 18:19, Jesus says, "... No one is good, except one - God.". If you say you'd be innocent, or if you think God will just forgive you, you might be creating your own God to suit your needs. You'd then be guilty of breaking yet another of the ten commandments. Making a god to suit yourself is called idolotry. Like any good judge, God will not simply forgive you because you are sorry when you stand before him. You will be found guilty!
  • According to your own sin, and judged by God's perfect law, do you think you'd go to heaven or hell? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people - none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Also, in Revelation 21:8, the Bible is clear regarding who will go to hell, "...the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
  • Does going to hell concern you?
  • Do you know what God did for you, so that you wouldn't have to go to hell?

The Good News!

God sent His son Jesus, who lived among us as a sinless man, to save us from our sin. All of us have sin, but Jesus had no sin. Jesus was brutally tortured, was crucified on a cross, and died as a sacrifice for our sins.

Picture God as a judge in a courtroom, and standing before him you are found guilty of your sin. In His courtroom, even one sin is enough for you to be declared guilty, and the mandatory sentence is death and eternity in hell! You are about to be taken to hell, but just then your attorney Jesus, makes a deal with the judge to release you. The deal that Jesus made with the judge is that He would pay for your sin. It seems kind of crazy for Jesus to do this, but He loves you very much. This is exactly what Jesus did for you when he died on the cross. He paid the fine for our sins, and all we have to do is repent (turn from our sin), put our faith and trust in Him, and let Him be the Lord of our lives.

Regarding repenting (turning from your sins) - It may seem impossible to stop breaking God's law. All of us have sinned and struggle with sin in our lives. The important thing is that we acknowledge our sin is against God. If we truly understand how bad sin is, and appreciate that Jesus died for our sins, we will resist and avoid it. When we do sin, the Spirit of the Lord will convict us in our hearts. Over time, as we seek a closer relationship with the Lord, the sin in our lives will become less and less.

Secondly, regarding putting our faith and trust in Jesus - think about how a person with a parachute trusts and has faith in the parachute when they jump from a plane. Like a parachute, when we have faith and trust in Jesus, when the plane ride of life gets rough, we won't stop having faith and trust in our parachute (Jesus). If anything, the hard times in our lives will drive us closer to the God, knowing that there is more to eternity than life here on earth. I'm certainly not telling you that Jesus is going to improve your life, just as the parachute isn't going to improve a plane passenger's flight. In my life, simply being a Christian didn't mean that I instantly had no problems, became rich, got married, and bought a house in Rancho Santa Fe. However, when we have put our faith and trust in Jesus, we can have joy knowing that one day we will make our jump into eternity, and when judged by God at that point, we will conquer sin based on Jesus' sacrifice. Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. He says so in John 14:6. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."Through Jesus, God will forgive us of our sins! It's really that simple. Please strongly consider what I've told you right now.

Lastly, regarding letting Jesus be our Lord and guide through life. A true relationship with the Lord involves submitting to His will for our lives. Having a relationship with the Lord is much like being obedient to our parents. By telling the Lord that we are willing to do what He wants us to do, and that we are willing to set aside our own desires in order to do what He wants, we can be assured that our obedience will have true value to ourselves and to the kingdom of God.

Everything that I've said here is all biblically supported. This message to get you to think about your eternal destiny is just like Jesus' message as He talked to people about their sin, and just how He told people about the path to heaven. If you would like to know that you will go to heaven and not hell, simply accept that Jesus' sacrifice is the payment for your sin. Put your faith and trust in that fact, turn from the sin that is keeping you from having a closer relationship with God, and let Jesus be your guide through life. I care about you, and your eternal destiny is at stake! Get right with God today!
